A huge number of films from 21 countries were submitted at the weekend to the competition program of the MEDIAWAVE'2014.
Feel free to send your film and submission. You can also do it online. It's easy and quick. After sending us the entry form, you'll immediatelly receive a user name and password to the site where you can upload the film.
You can submit your film in all genres. You can read more about our special themes - The Great War, Womanhood - under the entry in the menu.

The MEDIAWAVE staff is back from the city of Lijiang in Tibet border region, South inner China, with lots of experiences, photo and video documentations. They were invited by the musicians, fine artists and film makers from Lijiang attended the MEDIAWAVE Festival 2012.
Members of the Hungarian delegation: Miklós Both musician-singer, Norbert Kovács dancer-singer, Dilára Csillik, president of the Hungarian-Asian Society, Béla Jávorszky, journalist and his wife, Éva Kovács, and the technical staff recording the concerts and experiences, Tibor Jörg soundman and Jenő Hartyándi cameraman, Mediawave festival director.
The hospitability was excellent in the fascinating World Heritage city of the former tea caravan center. A painter, Wuijang and the Hungarian born Henrik Nagy, helped us the orientation in the rich cultue of the region. FILM - will give the opportunity to work out film plans, write scripts and the practical realization of the suitable scripts.

PHOTO - will have the opportunity to get to know not just concert, portrait, landscape and digital techniques but analogue, archive techniques as well.

You can still enter for free your fiction, animation or experimental film that is no longer than 30 minutes and was made after 1. January 2008. Beside the previous technical updates the biggest change is that you can not only send the registration form on-line but you can also upload your film for the pre-jury to review. Those whom movies make it to the final we require a screening copy as well. The 19th Passport Control of MEDIAWAVE Foundation awaits young artists and those interested over 16, whether beginners, intermediate students (in formal art education) or advanced (with qualifications and/or experience) who intend to learn and develop their talent within the framework of a creative, international art cooperation offering fast and effective progress in practical knowledge. Power to the Pixel is delighted to announce that applications are now open for The Pixel Lab, its brand new residential course to be held 4 - 10 July 2010 in the 5*St. David’s Hotel & Spa in Cardiff.

The cross-media lab is open to European media professionals with a strong track record in their sector, and has a particular focus on the creation, finance and distribution of cross-media properties to create sustainable European media businesses.
The Pixel Lab will enable European film producers and other media professionals to tap into the business knowledge-base of the film, online, broadcast, gaming and mobile industries.
 

Film industry conference during the 20th MEDIAWAVE International Film and Music Festival.

The AZYL shortfilm festival of Bratislava again calls for entries to the Advertising Life competition, which like last year will be hosted by BuSho festival for the second time. The goal of this call is to get 1 minute shorts from makers that is related to their slogen „reklama na život" roughly means advertising life. This year’s subject is: 20 years of freedom!? Armed with last years’ experience the major change is that the pieces will be judged in 3 countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia) by separate juries then the 10 finalists will compete in the final in Bratislava. The winner’s reward again is €3000.-!

The industry conference „When East Meets West”, organized by Friuli Venezia Giulia regional film fund has been called into being to support cross-border cooperations and coproductions, as well as contact making by involving different actors of the profession. At the introduction block of film funds, Jenő Hartyándi spoke about the background of Film Fund Győr, Mediawave film festival, the regional archive, and the foundation of the Hungarian regional film funds.

At the round table talk of film festivals, Film Fund Győr invited the participants to an European film meeting to be organized during the 20th Mediawave festival in Szombathely, where they will expect representatives of regional film funds and organizations interested in coproductions. According to the first plans, the meeting taking place on 6-7 May 2010 will aim at the discovery of possible realistic, European cooperations beyond contact making and networking. Apart from Hungarian film organizations, we would like to invite professionals interested primarily in regional cooperations from Croatia, Italy, Austria and Slovenia.
