BREAKDOWN - SKETCH FILM APPLICATION OF THE FILMFUND GYŐR
The FILMFUND GYŐR calls for an application for short fiction films shot in Győr and in its region to stimulate the film production in Győr. As guidelines, the tenderers give four keywords: VILLAGE - CITY - DREAM CAR - BREAKDOWN. The specifications are that the film plan cannot be a road movie and the word 'breakdown' is interpreted as an abstract expression.
The submitted applications will be judged by a professional jury who chooses the best 5-7 but maximum 10-20 min. long film plans, which, interlaced together, will give a feature-length film. (In view of the applications, it can happen that we will give an opportunity for the young film makers to realise their ideas in frame of a workshop. You can apply from Hungary and from abroad!
The producers of the films must use actors, specialist and services from the region of Győr.
The applicant can be an individual (writer, scriptwriter) or a production company but when selected, the applicant should find the production background of the realisation of the film.
You should attach the following things to the application:
- treatment, on a screenplay-level of a scene (1 issue in printed and digital version /on CD/)
- professional CV, contact (e-mail, telephone, address) - in a closed envelop with a motto on it!
The anonimity of the application serves the applicant's interest so the jury will not be influenced by the person of the artist. First, the submitted application will go through a formal control.
The incompleted applications and those indicating the name of the artist (writer, director, cinematographer, etc.) will be excluded from the further evaluation process.
The professional jury, beside acceptance and refusal, can offer professional help (dramaturgy, screenplay writing), if the applicant requires, to develop the not-so-well elaborated works which they considered good.
If the applicant demands, the FILMFUND GYŐR can help in finding the personal (director, cameraman, actor, etc.), technical backgrounds and services for his/her film.
The Filmfund Győr, within its competence, offers organisational help to realise the film plans:
- help in making the first steps to Hungarian and international film professional applications
- Deadline for application of the Motion Picture Foundation of Hungary: April, 2009.

- finding a coproduction partner,
- finding film technical devices for free or on discount price (cran, stadycam, dolly, camera)
- organising cheap editing backround or for free
- raw material as sponsor support
The raw material of the sketch film can only be HD or Red video technique. The FILM FOUND Győr intends to present and distribute the film in the E-cinema network, in televisions and at festivals.

The FILMFUND GYŐR will not evaluate the applications arrived later than the given date.
