JENŐ HARTYÁNDI IN THE JURY OF THE HUNGARIAN FILM WEEK

Győr-Budapest - Jenő Hartyándi was invited to the jury of the 40th Hungarian Film Week. The well-known director and cinematographer from Győr thinks that the honour was due to the MEDIAWAVE and the freshly established regional film fund, in other words to the 'rural' film profession.
The Fim Week will start on the 27th of January in Budapest where 334 films were submitted. Jenő Hartyándi was invited to the feature film jury (he previously took part in the preview selection) who, together with the director Márta Mészáros, the cinematographers Elemér Ragály and Vilmos Zsigmond and the writer and director, Ferenc Tolvaly, will decide about the selected films.
'Knowing the capital-centred film production, I was surprised by the invitation, which, I think, was not dedicated to my personality but to the success of the MEDIAWAVE and the freshly established Filmfund Győr, in other words it is due to the rural film profession and the intense regional initiation', said the well-known director, cinematographer, and director of the ANOTHER CONNECTION Festival.
Hartyándi about the contemporary Hungarian film variety: 'Some years ago a film director generation, totally different in thinking, emerged. Most of them came out from the Film Art University and they are followed by the new directors whose films will be screened in the competition programme of the film week. The independent film makers with very good works are also present and they enrich the film supply with their unique messages'.
